com HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 5) Permission was given for Peggy Boo (GB) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference approximately 1½ furlongs out and on the run to the line involving Victor Cee (GB), placed third, ridden by John Egan, Soca Star (IRE), placed second, ridden by Dale Swift, and Rotokura Belle (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
In the first incident, the interference was found to be accidental in that Rotokura Belle (GB) had to be checked off the heels of Soca Star (IRE) which had moved marginally to its right.
In the second incident, Egan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed when insufficiently clear causing Hart to have to take a check for several strides on Rotokura Belle (GB) approaching the line.
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that Come On Over (IRE), which started second- favourite and finished unplaced, was denied a clear run on several occasions from the final 2 furlongs and Jason Hart reported that Rotokura Belle (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, suffered interference approximately 1½ furlongs out and again inside the final ½ furlong.
