Approximately half a furlong after the start, a very free-running Davvy (GB), unplaced, edged right-handed carrying Nifty (IRE), placed third, across the heels of the winner, Akabusi (GB), before shifting left-handed leaving Who Is Alice (GB), unplaced, short of room on the rail, causing that runner to become unbalanced and to lose ground.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
On the run to the line, the winner, Akabusi (GB), shifted left-handed at the same time as Green Dame (IRE), shifted right-handed, resulting in the runners making light contact.
Following the race, George Bass reported that Who Is Alice (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approximately half a furlong after the start; the Veterinary Officer reported that the filly had been struck into on its left-hind.
Phoebe Edwards reported that Davvy (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
