Permission was given for both Taygar (IRE) and Annsar (GB) to be mounted in the chute, to wear a red hood to the start and to go early to post and for both Swiss Lightning (GB) and Glamour Show (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Upon leaving the stalls, Lady Wingalong (IRE), placed second, shifted left-handed moving Glamour Show (GB), placed fourth, off its intended racing line which in turn caused Annsar (GB), unplaced, to be crowded for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Lady Wingalong (IRE).
Following the race, Jack Doughty reported that Annsar (GB), unplaced, was short of room leaving the stalls.
