THE WEATHERBYS HANDICAP HURDLE RACE (CLASS 4) Permission was given for Eddie My Eagle (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and go early to post.
The winner, DEE’S GETAWAY (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Carlisle on 16 February 2026 where the mare finished eleventh of fourteen runners beaten by 36½ lengths.
It was noted that George Bewley could offer no explanation for the mare's improved form.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Eddie My Eagle (IRE), unplaced, had lost both front shoes and was lame on its right-hind and that He's Bresilian (GB), placed third, had bled from the nose.
