THE RIPON THEATRE FESTIVAL 5TH - 12TH JULY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Turning into the home straight, Paroda Diva (IRE), placed second, lugged quickly right-handed causing Popty Ping (GB), unplaced, to be briefly crowded for room and take a check but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Paroda Diva (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final half furlong, involving Paroda Diva (IRE), placed second, ridden by Andrew Mullen; Karakula Dancer (GB), placed third, ridden by Liam Wright.
Although not considered in the placings, Cobalt Comet (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Cam Hardie, was found to be involved in the interference.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Paroda Diva (IRE) as Karakula Dancer (GB) had lost no momentum and was always being held comfortably to be beaten by a neck for second.
The interference was found to be accidental as Paroda Diva (IRE) lugged quickly right-handed, causing Karakula Dancer (GB) to become briefly unbalanced, which in turn gave a slight bump to Cobalt Comet (GB).
