Formscan By Michael Graham - There isn't a lot of strong recent hurdling form to go on and it may pay to side with the 105-rated WHATS NEW. Andy Slattery's charge has the benefit of being placed in three of his nine hurdle races and this looks a good opportunity for him to get his head in front. Last year's winning combination of Denis Hogan and Gavin Brouder are represented by Earthwatch who was a place (and six and a half lengths) behind Whats New in fourth at Killarney, so he looks one of the main protagonists. Gordon Elliott fields a couple of horses and his newcomer Open Approach is well worth a check for market strength.

He wasn’t winning out of turn. It wasn’t exactly a strong race, but he had been running consistently well in that grade. It’s just great to get it done for the owners (Joe Bolger) today. Obviously, he took a heavy fall only a week-and-a-half ago (in Killarney), but he’s always schooled well at home and I’d say that the run over jumps probably did help him. Hopefully he’ll be winning over jumps as well.
