She’s a handy filly and with 11-12 we had to claim 7lb off her. Tom gave her a super ride, he took his time and crept away into the race,. What a game mare, for a handy mare, she’s won six races now. Credit to Eamon Leahy and all the lads that own her, they are wonderful owners and I’m over to moon to have won here with her. She definitely likes an ease in the ground but she was just so well in herself and she’s very fit. This race has been the plan for a long time because Eamon Leahy lives just out the road in Millstream, where the mare was born and reared.

I don't know how good a race it was, but she jumped well and I'm delighted. She was a nice mare to get and JP (McManus) and Frank (Berry) said to take my time with her. She was good and tough from the last. I've better facilities now and am hoping that a better quality of horse will follow. John Ormonde put in a five-furlong sand and fibre gallop, I've a proper schooling strip over almost three furlongs and another deep woodchip gallop of two furlongs, plus we've built a new barn.

She is just improving all the time. There's a race for her back here again, and it is just amazing what she is doing. Nice prize today and a very competitive handicap. This is a nice mare. I’d say she’s way better than the ordinary and she’s a winter-type mare. She’s out of a very good mare. This one is the real deal. It was only her third run over hurdles, although you could say it was her second (badly hampered and unseated early at Ballinrobe). I was forced to go for a bumper as she got an RPR of 120 after being second. Just pure greenness beat her in Kilbeggan, or she would have won that novice hurdle. I said to JJ that he was on way the best horse in the race and he said he’d make the running then and do it the hard way. He said it was easier than it looked. She’ll go to Cork next. There is a three-mile novice there and also a three-mile graded race.
