Formscan By Gary Carson - SAN AER may be worth a shot on his return to action. The Vocalised gelding was last seen over hurdles at Thurles in late November. He had run a big race on the level at Galway previously when losing out by half-a-length to Ribee. That form looks good now with the winner taking last week’s Irish Lincoln. Hurricane Ivor won this at a big price last year and is a couple of pounds lower this time. He’s one to note. Stable jockey Shane Foley sides with Collecting Coin. She was an impressive maiden winner at Galway before a couple of solid efforts in conditions races and could be an improver this term.
An extended handicap for four years old and upwards (90 = 10st)

When he’s on song he’s on song!. He worked really well the other day up Walsh’s Hill (at the Curragh). Scott rode him and he tanked up there. I had no idea, I thought the ground was maybe a bit heavy for him but when he’s in a going mood like that he’s very strong. He loves bossing it. When he won last year on the Curragh, actually on good ground, Shane let him just roll along. As he’s got older seven furlongs seems to be no problem and he might go a mile. He’s such a cool dude. On that ground if you get away they can’t make up ground on you. He just loved it and Scott said the more he pulled out of him the more he wanted to run away with him. He’s a character. He’s been some servant to Fiona (Carmichael).

He is a lovely horse, we've always thought an awful lot of him and he was shrewdly bought by Patrick (Cooper) from the John Dance-dispersal sale last February. He misbehaved at the Curragh and Cork earlier in the year so we gelded him since and he behaved impeccably today. He did what he was supposed to do, is a lovely horse going forward and we'll hope to pick a winners' of one next. We'll plot our way through the season as he is ground-versatile.

I thought he was a bit hard giving him 8lb for winning the last day. He got handicapped last year when he was running too free in his races but he’s settling better. Hopefully he keeps progressing and if we can get him into Galway he’ll probably go there. He’s in Saturday in Dundalk but as of now he’s not running. Desert Haven was one of Paul Hunt's (previous owner) horses and he let him go at the end of the season so I bought him back myself. We did a little job on his wind which helped and he goes on any ground. It's great because his new owners had Knockmore Prince who nearly broke our hearts last year!. They wanted him to jump (hurdles) and he does actually jump so we'll see how we go during the summer. I don't know whether he'll get that trip or not though but it's great to start with a win for them.
