We were very, very close to taking him out. Adam got off Goal Exceeded and said 'I wouldn't run that chestnut horse. I think it'll be too quick for him'. We were humming and hawing and, the boys (Go Nutz Racing Syndicate) said that we'd run him and not to punish him if he wasn't handling it. We all got it wrong!. He is a big horse and he is quite a heavy horse as well. You wouldn't want that type of ground now too often for him. We'll probably get away with it today. Adam was good on him. We said we'd just jump out and we knew there was plenty of pace on and he did that. He picked up well and galloped to the line well. I think the likes of Galway could suit this fella. I think there is a nice three-year-old only 0-90 down there and that's probably where he'll head now. Adrian McGuinness, trainer

S. Foley, rider of Glitter And Glory, trained by Mrs John Harrington, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung left in the home straight

The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Adrian McGuinness, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Johnny Soda, placed first, as compared with its most run at Leopardstown on June 4th. Adrian McGuinness stated that his last run was on very rain softened ground and this evenings better ground in his opinion contributed to the apparent improvement in form. Having considered the report the Raceday Stewards noted the content.
