It’s great, Champions Weekend is a big weekend. Rory is one of my apprentices and he’s been working hard. Thanks to Richard (McNally, owner) and his team this horse came back in good form. He got a bit of a hold-up at the start of the year. I was very happy with his last run, and the plan was always to come here. Seven furlongs suits him well. When the rain came, I thought it would help him. I hope there’s not a golden highway down that outside because I have a few fancied runners later in the day. I said to him to take his medicine (from stall 16), cruise around behind them and get a bit of cover as best you can and then in the straight peel him to the outside. R.P. Whelan, rider of Dance Night Andday, trained by Ross O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that it got a bit congested at the first bend

P.A. Harnett, rider of Dunum, trained by Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got a bump from the inside after one and a half furlongs. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted

M.W Hassett, rider of Glenfinnan, trained by Michael Dods (in GB), reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout

The Raceday Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales that Nicola Burns, rider of Pier Pressure (FR), had weighed in at 1.4lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that this was the case and apologised for her actions. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that Nicola Burns was in breach of Rule 231 and having considered her record in this regard (first offence) the Raceday Stewards cautioned her on this occasion

The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident in the closing stages of this race involving Dance Night Andday, ridden by R.P. Whelan, unplaced, and I Am Superman, ridden by J.A. Powell, unplaced, where it appeared I Am Superman momentarily ran short of room. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
