Formscan By Gary Carson - It all went pear shaped for PRESENTING PERCY in the blue riband contest last year but Davy Russell keeps the faith and it may pay to do the same with Pat Kelly's classy gelding. On bare form this season he has a bit to find, having finished behind Delta Work on his last two starts, but it's all about the big day and Kelly is sure to have had his mind focused on this target. The selection was a stunning winner of the RSA here two years ago but unfortunately we haven't seen that from him since. A strong test of stamina is guaranteed here and that should bring out the best in him. Delta Work is the form horse in the race and really should be heading the market following his two wins at Leopardstown this year. He was beaten in the RSA last season but connections felt they got the tactics wrong then and he looks sure to play a big part here. Last year's winner Al Boum Photo has had a low-key prep again and that could well work in his favour as he comes here a fresh horse. Santini certainly stays well but probably needs to step up a bit on bare form while Kemboy was the top rated chaser in training last season and is another that has to come into the mix in a fascinating and wide-open looking renewal.
For 5yo+ who are allotted a rating of 130 or more by the BHA Head of Handicapping following a review of the horses entered and after taking account of races run up to and including the day prior to confirmation. Horses who are not qualified for a rating in GB, IRE or FR may also be entered & such horses may be eligible providing the Handicapper is satisfied that the horse's racecourse performances up to and including the day prior to confirmation would merit a minimum rating of 130 (the decision of the BHA Head of Handicapping shall be final).Weights - 5yo 11st 8lb, 6yo+ 11st 10lb.Allowances - Mares 7lb
