Formscan By Gary Carson - A stiff test of stamina this and staying is the one thing that MONKFISH does. The Stowaway gelding was turned over on his hurdling debut at Fairyhouse but stepping up in trip has made a big difference since and he has been impressive on his two victories since. He was just about to take over when left clear at Thurles last time and would surely have been a authoritative winner regardless given the way he galloped on in the closing stages. Latest Exhibition has shown a touch of class this term and was a good winner in Grade 1 company at the Dublin Racing festival last month. This is another step up in trip though and although connections have always felt he'd stay well it remains a bit of an unknown. Thyme Hill was third in the bumper here last season and is another classy sort but again he tries this trip for the first time and the way he has won his last couple you wouldn't be convinced that he wants further.
