Formscan By Tom Weekes - JAGEN H’GHAR is a hopeful pick to overcome a mini-break in a difficult looking race. He is a useful performer at this level and while well beaten on his latest, had previously shown good form in three runs at this venue and is third-best on adjusted ratings today. Sanus Per Aquam is top rated on adjusted ratings and while he hasn’t appeared since May, looks a shadow of the horse he was as a juvenile. This race is clearly within his ability, on best form, but he has plenty to prove today. Poitin is a dual CD winner and is not without her chance today. She was beaten over 1L behind Spruce Meadows (winner) and De Coronado (third) in August but now meets Spruce Meadows on 12lbs better terms and De Coronado on 7lbs better terms. Red Avenger has done very well for his current trainer but most of his best form is over slightly shorter.
