Formscan By Mark Nunan - LETHAL POWER probably has plenty of leeway off his current handicap mark of 86, and can go close here for his new trainer. He won three last year for Johnny Murtagh, and had run some fine races at this track before possibly finding the ground too quick when last seen on Guineas weekend. The year-younger Manqoosh is identically rated, and Dermot Weld spoke about him quite positively after his debut win at Gowran Park in May. He ran with some credit in a useful winners’ race at Killarney last month, and steps into handicap company for the first time. Trading Point and Aussie Valentine ran respectably in mid-division in the featured mile handicap won by Saltonstall at Galway, and both have form on soft ground which might be a big plus if the predicted rainfall does arrive. Great Grey ran a couple of very good races at Galway last year, and had some useful horses behind him when second at Limerick in June. He definitely has a race in him off a rating of 80, and this son of Famous Name will appreciate any ease in the ground.
