Formscan By Tom Weekes - LOS ANGELES returns following a fine three-year-old season. He disappointed on his final start last year but had otherwise performed to a consistently high level, with his Irish Derby success being sandwiched between third-place finishes in both the English Derby and Prix de l'Arc. 2023 English Derby-third White Birch won last year’s renewal of this race, prior to winning May’s Group 1 Tattersalls Gold Cup. While placed on good-to-firm ground in Epsom, he has a preference for easy-ground and now returns following a long 344-day layoff. Race-fit Galen was somewhat flattered to beat Jan Brueghel last month as the St Leger winner was reappearing over an inadequate distance but is smart and suited by this distance.
