Formscan By Mark Nunan - UNCLE GERHARD has been performing well in better-class handicaps and may appreciate dropping down to this grade. A winner on Thyestes day at Gowran, he was third in a very competitive novice handicap on the Irish Grand National card at Fairyhouse and was doing his best work late on when touched off by a head last time at Clonmel. A 3lb rise looks manageable and the extra furlong here will suit. Willyouwalkwithme is a dual course and distance winner and he looked set to add to his tally at this venue last month until nailed on the line over a furlong further. Harry Smyth’s charge has his chance again off a 3lb higher mark. Ballinlough Gale and Fassbender were behind Willyouwalkwithme last time. The former is useful on the Flat and can improve for that handicap debut while Fassbender, who was sent off favourite but ran below-par, won here in the autumn and could bounce back.
