FormscanBy Michael Graham - Musical Ava is tempting after a couple of third places recently. The form of her third at Down Royal is working out well, however, she is unproven at this trip which tempers enthusiasm. The choice, therefore, is DUKE'S GIRL. She was third in Punchestown before being a beaten favourite in fourth at Kilbeggan. Both of those races were in better company. She is a 27-race maiden, but this is only her fourth start for Gordon Elliott and he has often eked wins out of horses switched to him. Miracle Way does a lot of her best work here. She won her bumper at this track back in 2016 and kept on for third when last seen here in May. There are worse each-way bets to be had. Balgowlah was a nose in front of Miracle Way in second which has to bring him into contention for local trainer Colin McBratney.
