Formscan By Alan Magee - YORKHILL is a bit like the equine version of marmite and, while I’m not a fan of the yeast extract paste, I remain very much in the corner of the Willie Mullins-trained gelding. The engine has never been in doubt but he’s not the easiest ride and certainly needs to go left-handed. He typically ran with the choke out when dropping away in the straight on his reappearance over three miles here at Christmas but Paul Townend can let him roll along over this trip. Stable-companion Min lost his unbeaten record over fences in the stewards’ room here over Christmas when squeezing up Simply Ned on the rail after the last. There may not be much between the pair again, while last season’s Queen Mother Champion Chase winner Special Tiara adds further spice. However the Henry de Bromhead-trained front-runner needs better ground to show his best, and comes here off the back of a fall at Kempton.
