Formscan By Eamonn Murphy - This great old handicap has gotten a bit lost among the Grade Ones at the inaugural Dublin Racing Festival, and much like Alan Sweetman said in the Racing Post during the week, it's sad to see history consigned to the past. No hunter chase and the dropping of the Leopardstown Chase moniker are perhaps things that can be looked at for the coming years. There'd usually be plenty of chat about market moves for this event, but I've not heard or read anything this time, so like many punters I'm probably coming in here a bit cold. Much like the handicap chase earlier, the McManus runners again aren't long about catching the eye. What's not to like about a Charles Byrnes youngster down the bottom, with Mark Enright up to carry the green and gold. OFF YOU GO sluiced up at Limerick, and a 16Ib rise in the weights mightn't be enough to stop him following up. He's back in trip and hopefully the Presenting gelding won't be caught out by his lack of experience.
An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards rated 0-150Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race or hurdle races after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
