Formscan By John O'Riordan - Having introduced a smart winning debutant here on the opening day of the season, Adrian Murray will have a good idea of what is required to win this juvenile contest. With that in mind, the fact he relies on newcomer CALIFORNIA DREAMER must surely be significant. Well drawn in the middle of this small field, the Mehmas filly has plenty to recommend her. Although beaten 11 lengths in that aforementioned contest, the Jack Davison-trained Marianne North should be a different proposition now. Having run green in the latter stages, she should be much more streetwise here and the benefit of that previous run shouldn't be underestimated. Trainer Jim Bolger has already sent out a two-year-old winner this term, so his newcomer Pleasant Dawn is another to take note of.
