Formscan By Mark Nunan - A course and distance winner under Darragh O'Keeffe on his latest hurdles start in October, AG OBAIR GO CRUA has been running well over fences since then and now has a 7lb lower mark in this discipline compared to his chase mark. He handles testing ground and should go well. Minority Interest won over course and distance on the same day as the selection and may be able to bounce back from a disappointing effort at Punchestown. Sky And Sand was a creditable fifth over this trip on heavy ground at Fairyhouse and can come forward from that, while Doing It In Style ran well in a maiden at Christmas and is one to consider on handicap debut.

We thought a lot of her and her work at home has been very good. We were a little bit worried coming here about inexperience as we just had one school in her,. We were a little bit worried about the ground as well and Alex said she only got through it and wouldn't want it any tackier. She is a winter filly though. I think all she'll do is improve, she's a big filly but only a frame. She should hopefully improve a good bit from this. I would have been disappointed if we hadn't been placed in it, I was worried about Willie's as it's hard to beat his in a bumper. We're delighted to see her doing that as she's far from the finished article. I think she's nice. She has a lot of filling out to do and we won't be hard on her. We'll probably give her a run in a winners bumper and then let her off after that. It’s great to win here today on a local day. He won the last day and he was well in at the weights today so we said we’d give him a go. Cian was patient on him. He jumped his way into it and came home well. He’s definitely improving, before he wasn’t finding much off the bridle but he seems to be staying at it a bit more now. His jumping is really getting slicker. Hopefully there is another good handicap in him, I’ll have to talk to Eddie (Walsh, owner). He has been disappointing up until now as we thought the world of him from the get-go. I bought him from Will Delaney as he is a half-brother to both Kilcarry Bridge and Kilashee (stablemates) and is out of a half-sister to Hear The Echo. He is a proper little horse and there's no reason he won't go forward now. Shane gave him a peach of a ride and really switched him off in front. He was running a huge race when falling at Fairyhouse - I'm not a huge fan of those new hurdles and I think he would have finished third then. That makes it a better day because it was horrendous until then!. I came in and an umbrella left the bookies and missed my head by an inch. I said ‘this is going to be a good day’ because it should have clocked me. Then one fell in the first, one got brought down in the third and then a horse, Quarry Rocco, slipped in the stable and was lame behind and I couldn’t run him. I was saying ‘what have I done wrong?’. That’s brilliant. The lads (Cluain Abhann Racing Syndicate) are great. The horse has been very solid. He ran a good race in Kilbeggan over a year ago but got an injury and we nursed him back. He ran a great race the last day and was super today. He had a lovely racing weight and handled a bit of an ease. We never got to run him on softer because he got an injury in the summer and then we brought him back again this summer. This is his first time that he’s got to run with an ease.
