The Philip Rothwell trained gelding won three in-a-row late last year at Naas, Thurles and Wexford. He was heavily punted on his next start at Cork (9/2 into 5/2 favourite on-course) but he fell at the fourth fence. That Cork run was just last weekend and he is turned out again quickly in a bid to recoup losses. He looks very well treated by the handicapper off a mark of 110 and with Paul Townend booked to ride he appears the one to be on. Taraquinius has also notched up three chase successes this season however the grey 10yo showed signs that the handicapper maybe catching up with him last time out and so the selection is favoured. Rich Revival put in a great display last time out at Fairyhouse to win despite being off the track for well over a year. The Liz Doyle trained gelding is sure to give a good account of himself here as should Sumkindasuprstar and the unlucky Limerick faller Harpsy Cord. Slieveardagh seems to have lost his confidence after a fall at Punchestown last May but if he can get back to his best he could run well at a decent price with Barry Geraghty in the saddle.
