Formscan By Alan Magee - EL FABIOLO easily won this race last year and was sent off the 2/9 favourite for the Champion Chase at Cheltenham where a bad mistake at around halfway ended his challenge. He can make the odd mistake, but his jumping really fell apart subsequently behind Jonbon at Sandown. The Spanish Moon gelding now makes his belated reappearance and given a clear round, may prove difficult to beat. Solness beat Gaelic Warrior by nearly four lengths with Marine Nationale close up in third and Captain Guinness soundly beaten in fifth over course and distance at Christmas. Gaelic Warrior, who impressed when scoring twice as a novice at Grade 1 level last season, is expected to progress from that seasonal debut run.
