Formscan By Tom Weekes - BRAVE TROOP is 30lb higher than when winning his first hurdle in November but still appears nicely handicapped, as he continues his upward trajectory. A four-time Flat winner and rated 87 in that sphere, he had bundles in hand when scoring at both Thurles and Navan recently and while he competes from a career high rating, is again claimer-ridden and his trainer has won this prestigious race four times. Lightly-raced James’s Gate finished third in the 2022 Cheltenham Bumper and has since returned to that level. He has been penalised 9lb for winning a useful rated novice at Navan last month but can compete. Reappearing Storm Heart was Grade 1-placed over course-and-distance last season and is interesting on handicap debut.
