Formscan By Tom Weekes - There are reasons to oppose Grand National-candidate GERRI COLOMBE on his hurdling return and following a Christmas disappointment, but it is significant that Jack Kennedy rides him over in-form stablemate Staffordshire Knot. Runner-up in the 2024 Cheltenham Gold Cup, he flopped on his recent Leopardstown return following a long layoff and while cheekpieces are now applied, should improve dramatically under a low weight. Much of his form is at spring festivals but he likes testing ground and is a class act on his day. Home By The Lee would ideally prefer a sounder surface and has top weight while Rocky’s Diamond won last year’s renewal but now carries a 5lb penalty, and was well held last time.
