Formscan By Donal Murphy - SALSIFY sets the standard here and it is hard to look beyond him. The son of Beneficial had a superb campaign last season the highlight of which was winning the Foxhunters Chase at Cheltenham in March. He makes his seasonal debut here and he should have too much class for his thirteen rivals. Tammys Hill was surprisingly beaten last time out at Loughanmore but before that he won his last seven starts in succession. The Liam Lennon trained gelding should give a good account of himself but it will be surprising if he can beat the selection. The former Dermot Weld trained Merchant Royal is another that should run well. He won this race last year and finished a creditable seventh in the Foxhunters at Cheltenham behind Salsify. He has been disappointing on two starts for David Christie in point-to-point's but returning to the track an improved performance can be expected.
