He has been runner-up in both his starts and, indeed, a beaten favourite in both. He was beaten 15 lengths at 2/5 in Cork by Clemencia which doesn’t fire the juices, however, Brendan Duke is bullish about Clemencia being a Triumph Hurdle horse, so that form may look better in time. Clemencia has since been well beaten in fourth in a Grade 2 at Leopardstown over Christmas. It may be better to play the each-way game as opposed to backing the short-priced-favourite Pasley. One that appeals is Edward O’Grady’s TOP LINE TOMMY. He was fifth to Aspire Tower here and second to Wolf Prince at Fairyhouse, and those two horses were the first pair home in that aforementioned Grade 2 at Leopardstown. That formline brings Top Line Tommy into contention. Oak Park catches the eye on jumping debut for Gordon Elliott. On his last start for Karl Burke, on the Flat, he kept on for third over nine furlongs on soft ground at Redcar. He is in good hands and will know his job. Darkened has some useful Flat form in the book and could make a hurdler for Denis Hogan. Yafordadoe is well worth watching in the market. He won his last two starts on the level and can improve on a seventh place behind Aspire Tower at this track in November.
