Formscan By Gary Carson - JACKONSLADY has produced a couple of really smart performances over fences and can land the spoils here. A smart sort over hurdles she looks even better over fences and her run in Tipperary when she chased home Pride Of The Artic was in particular a cracking effort. She doesn't look too harshly treated tried in handicap company judged on that. She wasn't disgraced at Down Royal either in very good company, although flattered to finish second in that Grade 2 contest. Lead Kindly Light comes into this off the back of a good win at Fairyhouse and has to be a danger. She had a few of these behind then and is fancied to confirm placings with those rivals. Instant Impacked could be counted a fortunate winner last time and with a 7lb rise and upped in grade now this looks tough. Carlingford Lough comes into this off three beginners chase starts and his run at Galway was particularly good. He looks fairly treated judged on his hurdles mark and money for him could prove significant.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four yrs old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lb)Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 11st 10lbPenalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Any horse rated above 140 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 140 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 140 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
