Formscan By Gary Carson - A tricky contest but HAPPY NEW YEAR is on a role and may prove worth following. He landed the first of a hat-trick of successes over three miles at Gowran Park but has been dropping back in trip since and the way he quickened away at Punchestown over two-and-a-half last time suggests that two furlongs less here should be no problem. He got another 8lb for his latest victory, making his total rise 17lb, but may just have another one in him. Mobile Sizer is an interesting runner pitched into this on only his third start. He took a Tipperary maiden hurdle on his jumps debut back in April and is open to plenty of improvement. A mark of 111 doesn't look too harsh here and market moves could be informative. Majestic Oak ran well back over hurdles at Navan last time and still looks on a decent mark over timber. He could run into a place while Blazing Sonnet has been running well recently and off a nice weight here could be involved.
