The Stewards enquired into an incident early in the straight involving Florence Thompson, ridden by D. King and Tai Sing Yeh, ridden by C.T. Keane, where it appeared Florence Thompson made contact with Tai Sing Yeh
Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. D. King stated that at the time he felt there was sufficient room for him to go for the gap however upon reviewing it, he accepted that he had misjudged his run. C.T. Keane stated that he received a bump and his mount lost its backend for a stride. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found D. King was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly, and having considered his record in this regard, the Stewards suspended him for 3 racedays. Ms Elaine O'Farrell accompanied D. King at this enquiry
D.P. McDonogh, rider of Linus Larrabee trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right throughout.
