THE ASCONA LADIES FASHION AND STYLE HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) Permission was given for Lady Fizz (GB) and Gal (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Lisa Williamson was cautioned as Golden Mabel (GB) had arrived in the Parade Ring without its declared hood, which was then located and fitted to the filly before going to the start.
The winner, Golden Mabel (GB) appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Haydock on 8 August 2026, where the filly finished last of six runners, beaten by 15¼ lengths.
The representative of Lisa Williamson explained that the filly may have benefitted from the drop down to a Class 6 on this occasion.
His explanation was noted and Golden Mabel (GB) was routine tested.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the point of the bend leaving the back straight, when Diamond Ali (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carson, interfered with Follow My Heart (GB), which unseated Ryan Kavanagh.
Carson was suspended for 10 days for careless riding as he had allowed his horse to drift left-handed when not sufficiently clear of Kavanagh, which resulted in him clipping heels and becoming unseated.
Following the race, Finley Marsh reported that Kaiko (GB), unplaced, was badly hampered by the faller on the bend.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Cougar Force (GB), unplaced, lost its right fore shoe.
