The Starter reported that Demanding Lilley (GB) was very reluctant to load.
Marcus Tregoning was informed that the filly could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Heartfullofstars (IRE), ridden by Sam Hitchcott, interfered with Francophone (GB), placed second, ridden by Joe Fanning.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Heartfullofstars (IRE)’s placing as at the time of the incident the filly was a neck up and always appeared to be holding Francophone (GB) and maintained the distance through to the line.
The interference was found to be accidental as initially, both fillies hung left-handed independently despite their rider’s best efforts.
Thereafter, inside the final ½ furlong, Heartfullofstars (IRE) shifted further left-handed despite Hitchcott’s best efforts, taking Francophone (GB) slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, Dougie Costello reported that Frankelian (GB), placed fifth, was slowly away.
