Game Point does it easily for the Codys
It was a long time coming. That’s actually the first time he’s ever got his head in front, between the Flat and hurdling,. He is a good horse but, for some reason, it’s taken him this long to get his head in front. I honestly think that will do his confidence the world of good. There is plenty to come from him, he’s a horse that I’ve always loved and I couldn’t believe he hadn’t won until now. Every time he ran I thought he might win, but at least he did it well today. I told Paddy (Cody, son) to pop him out and ride him like the best horse in the race, keep it simple. Since he ran the last day, I had him up with Robbie Power a couple of times, just to get him to be a big slicker over poles. Robbie did a great job with him and I’d say that was a big help to him. Even when he got in tight today, he was quick out over them. He will go back on the Flat but my long-term plan all along has been the Lartigue in Listowel. If he gets into that, that’s where he’ll run next. He’d be in off a very light weight and I could see him running very well there on a left-handed track.
Enright goes shortest way around on Cool Summer
She had nice bumper runs and ran well in a maiden hurdle in Roscommon, but she didn’t go on the ground after that. She got a nice mark and we brought her back for nice ground. She had a lovely run in Roscommon. The owner Tim Kelly is from Ballinrobe and she was unlucky not to win there a few weeks ago, Sean Flanagan gave her a lovely ride but it just didn’t go for him on the day. Today it worked out great. The owner is away on business so he’s not here. It was a job well done today and I’m delighted to get her head in front. We’ll see what the handicapper does and look for something similar again. If the ground changes, she’ll be put away until next season as she wants good ground. She’s a summer mare.
Boola Times it well to open account
We probably made too much use of him the last two days and didn’t think he got home both days, so we said we’d drop him out today,. They went plenty quick and it suited, he loved going through them. Sure he got there and he won, so we’re happy with that. We thought he needed to be handy the whole time and he didn’t. We said we’d take our time today, he travelled and they came back to him. He’s a nice horse, he works really well at home. He has been a bit disappointing on the track, but maybe this is just the right way to ride him.

Fabulous week for McConnell & Harvey
Femme proves Magnifique again at Wexford
We said we’d take a chance. The race she was in at Killarney (last week) was called off for unfortunate reasons and this race popped up,. You could maybe pick holes in the form of Henry’s horse (Le Coq Hardi - pulled up), that he’s maybe been unreliable at times. We were stepping up in trip. Gordon’s horse (Ma Jacks Hill) made a mistake, in fairness, but we were coming and coming. Danny said he was never overly happy throughout the race. She has gone on winter ground but I don’t know about this track for her, even though she’s won. I think she might be better on a level track. I’m delighted for the lads and delighted to have her. That’s three wins in four runs. They are a great bunch and I’m delighted to have a horse for them as it’s a good story behind the syndicate with Cian (Quirke) and all the lads.
Fourth Wexford win for Chosen Shant
She’s a bit of fun. We got her last year, she hadn’t won anything, and she just likes our place,. She’s very happy at home. She loves her work but when we got her first she didn’t like it. After about two months she sweetened up. I’d love to have got her when she was a five-year-old, it’s near the end of her career but it’s fantastic to get a win no matter what. He said that was the best she’s felt when he’s rode her, that she travelled unbelievably well. That she was on the bridle nearly all the way. She’s carrying me up the gallop every day, no wonder she looked back at Phillip and saw nothing!. She could come back here at the end of October. We’ll probably go to Listowel. Tom Maher is probably going to breed from her. I’m not interested in breeding horses, I’m too old for that. By the time the foal would be four, I’d be on a Zimmer frame!. We enjoy every win and Wexford has been very good to us over the years. She’s won here four times now. The left-handed track definitely suits her. Any time we’ve ran her right-handed, anywhere sharp, she wouldn’t travel.
