Thanks Dad (GB), trained by Scott Dixon had entered the Parade Ring after the signal to mount had been given.
After being interviewed, Dixon’s explanation that Thanks Dad (GB) was difficult to saddle as well as having three runners to prepare was accepted.
Approaching the bend out of the back straight, a free running American Star (IRE), unplaced, shifted right-handed off heels, which resulted in Cubanista (GB), unplaced, being taken off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
On the run to the line, Mr Slicker (FR), unplaced, hung right-handed, which caused a weakening American Star (IRE), unplaced, to be steadied, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, Thanks Dad (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 14 March 2025, where the gelding finished ninth of eleven runners, beaten 9 ¼ lengths.
Scott Dixon could offer no explanation for the improvement in form.
Thanks Dad (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Asadjumeirah (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
