You always think that when it is somebody else's horse (placings would be reversed) but, when it is your own, you are worried. On merit, I think he would have won and he is an improving horse. He went up 8lb, so it was a good effort. He's a very relaxed horse and he's a nice horse. We are hoping that he will probably have another run here, but we would also be hoping that would get a turf and an all-weather mark. The Raceday Stewards granted a request from Miss Evanna McCutcheon, trainer of Send Harry for an additional ten minutes to present her charges for identification by an IHRB Official in accordance with the provisions of Rule 90(i). Subsequently, they failed to present for identification and were therefore withdrawn by order of the Raceday Stewards

The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving Buddy Batt, ridden by R.P. Cleary, placed second and Prairie Girl, ridden by C.T. Keane, placed first, where it appeared that interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P. Cleary stated that he suffered interference from Prairie Girl which caused his mount to become unbalanced and felt that this had cost him the race. C.T

Keane stated that the crosswind had caused his filly to drift into Buddy Batt but felt that this had not enhanced his finishing position. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that Prairie Girl had caused interference to Buddy Batt and as a result of this interference had improved it’s finishing position. As a consequence, the Raceday Stewards reversed the placings of the first and second and amended the result to read as follows: First: Buddy Batt Second: Prairie Girl Third: Inishmot Prince Fourth: Sporting Hero Fifth: Billboa Sixth: Tomarlo Furthermore, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that C.T. Keane was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his clean record in this regard they suspended him for two racedays

R.P. Cleary, rider of Buddy Batt, trained by Tracey Collins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that he received interference close to home.

An extended handicap for three years old and upwards (80 = 10st)
