The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident turning into the home straight involving Clarnagh Maid, ridden by Mr J.H. Williamson, placed fourth and Fraher Field, ridden by Mr J.L. Gleeson, placed first, where it appeared Clarnagh Maid clipped a heel. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr J.H. Williamson stated that he clipped a heel when Fraher Field came across in front of him and had to take back. Mr J.L. Gleeson stated that he felt he was clear of any horse when he moved over to the better ground down the rail. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found Mr J.L. Gleeson, was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden improperly and having considered his record in this regard (second offence), the Raceday Stewards suspended Mr J.L. Gleeson for nine racedays
