The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Ring Of Kerry, trained by Cian Collins, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident leaving the straight with a circuit to go involving Caught Again, ridden by Mr W.T. Cronin, placed fifth, Larkfield Liberty, ridden by Mr R. James, unplaced, and Wing It Prof, ridden by Mr J. Costello, unplaced, where it appeared Caught Again checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Mr. W.T. Cronin stated that he ran short of room and snatched up. Mr. R. James stated that he got pressure from his inside. Mr. J. Costello stated that he was on heels and keen, he was conscious of horses on his inner and looked for space to avoid clipping heels. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards did not apportion blame to any rider and took no further action
Mr P.W. Gleeson, rider of Casafierna, trained by Brian Mortell, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly
Mr J.L. Gleeson, rider of Poetic Glory (GB), trained by Emmet Mullins, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount hung right up the straight
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Mr O. McGill, rider of Apache Tribe, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he wasn't aware he was so far clear. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg.10.3.(c)(race clearly won) and having taken his record into account suspended him for two race days
The Raceday Stewards interviewed Noel C. Kelly, trainer, in relation to his charge, Apache Tribe, crossing the parade ring without permission. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that this horse is very hot and can kick and he thought it was best to cut across and get out of the parade ring. Having considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found the trainer in breach of Reg.16 and having taken his clean record into account fined him €100
