An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference approximately 3 furlongs out, when the winner Dingwall (GB), ridden by Cara Tuke, interfered with Rating (IRE)(IRE), placed second, ridden by Jack Dace.
Being a 7lb apprentice, Tuke was accompanied in the enquiry by a senior rider.
The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of Dingwall (GB) as although the interference occurred approximately 2½ furlongs out, it was substantial in nature with Rating losing both significant ground and momentum.
As a consequence of the interference, Rating (IRE) then had to switch right-handed for clear running and having turned into the home straight, proceeded to close strongly through to the line to be beaten an ever-diminishing nose.
The Stewards were therefore satisfied that on the balance of probabilities, had the interference not occurred, Rating would have finished in front of Dingwall (GB) and therefore revised the placings as follows: First Rating (IRE), Second Dingwall (GB), Third Revich, Fourth Whiteley Way (GB).
Tuke was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as she had moved left-handed when insufficiently clear of Dace, causing him to be badly hampered against the rail.
Following the race, Jack Callan reported that Whiteley Way (GB), placed fourth, ran too free.
Rowan Scott reported that Mr Nugget (GB), placed fifth, was denied a clear run on two occasions approaching the final furlong.
John Egan reported that Boujee Gold (GB), unplaced, was unsuited by the slow early pace.
