THE RACE & REST - WOLVERHAMPTON HOLIDAY INN HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 6) (DIV I) Leaving the stalls, Baggie Boy (GB), unplaced, jumped very awkwardly, crowding Captain Kinsella (GB), unplaced, for room, causing that runner to bump Horus (GB), unplaced, which in turn hampered Joud (GB), placed second, and gave Tortola (IRE), placed fourth, a heavy bump, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, Maury (IRE), unplaced, edged slightly left-handed, briefly hampering Joud (GB), placed second, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner Barry The Worm (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton Park on 14 September 2026 where the gelding finished sixth of twelve runners, beaten by 7 ½ lengths.
Edward Smyth-Osbourne’s explanation that the gelding had appreciated the step up to 7 furlongs from 6 furlongs and a return to Wolverhampton where it had been a previous winner, was noted.
Barry The Worm (GB) was routine tested.
