THE FITZDARES SPRINT SERIES HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) (Windsor Sprint Series Qualifier) Permission was given for Trefor (IRE) and Uncle Don (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.
Approximately two furlongs out, as Trefor (IRE), placed fourth, committed to a tight but legitimate gap, Uncle Don (GB), placed second, drifted slightly left-handed at the same time as Sudden Flight (GB), placed third, stepped marginally right-handed which caused the rider of Trefor (IRE) to take a check for a few strides, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving Trefor (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Tom Marquand and Kylian (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Edward Greatrex.
Marquand was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed causing Kylian (IRE) to become tight for room against the rail.
Following the race, Edward Greatrex reported that Kylian (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and hung right-handed.
