The winner, Serengeti (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ascot on 9 May 2026, where the colt finished twenty-eighth of twenty-eight, beaten by 20¼ lengths.
Mike Murphy’s explanation that the colt had benefitted from a first time tongue tie and appreciated the step up in trip from 7 furlongs to 1 miles and 2 furlongs on this occasion, was noted.
Serengeti (FR) was routine tested.
Following the race, Rossa Ryan reported that Merveilleux Lapin (IRE), placed second, was denied a clear run approaching the final furlong; Hector Crouch reported that Greek Order (GB), unplaced, hung badly right-handed and Tom Marquand reported that First Principle (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed.
