THE HONG KONG JOCKEY CLUB WORLD POOL HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) Permission was given for Addison Grey (GB) and Annaf (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood and for Wiltshire (GB), Berkshire Whisper (IRE), Purosangue (GB), Far Above Dream (IRE) and Brosay (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Berkshire Whisper (IRE), drawn 6, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Approximately one furlong out, Brosay (GB), placed sixth, stumbled and moved left-handed taking Dark Ace (IRE), placed third, off its intended line which resulted in Dark Ace (IRE) and Berkshire Whisper (IRE), unplaced, becoming short of room and the rider of Berkshire Whisper (IRE) taking a check when awkwardly placed between Brosay (GB) and Mirabeau (GB), placed second, which had edged slightly right-handed.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of Brosay (GB) or Mirabeau (GB).
