Permission was given for Gold Dawn (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
Approximately 1 furlong after the start, a free running Gold Dawn (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed, carrying Penhallam (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line, which in turn impeded Eyes Front (IRE), placed second, on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend, involving Eyes Front (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jack Doughty and Penhallam (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Billy Garritty.
The interference was found to be accidental as Eyes Front (IRE) was racing greenly and made contact with the running rail, independently of any other runners, and became badly unbalanced as a result.
Approaching the final ½ furlong, Penhallam (IRE), unplaced, hung slightly right-handed at the same time as Monastry (IRE), placed fourth, edged left-handed causing the rider of Assaranca (IRE), unplaced, to momentarily steady his mount when short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Monastry (IRE).
Approaching the final ½ furlong, Renovatio Angel (GB), placed fifth, hung left-handed away from the whip before being corrected by its rider, crowding Green Falcon (GB), placed third, for room and moving that colt off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Alec Voikhansky reported that Pearl River (GB), placed sixth, was denied a clear run on multiple occasions from approaching 1 furlong out; and Pierre-Louis Jamin reported that REVOVATIO ANGEL, placed fifth, was slowly away.
