Leaving the stalls, the winner, Pomme Pomme (IRE) jumped right-handed, bumping Ruling Master (IRE), placed fifth, and unbalancing that gelding, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Pomme Pomme (IRE).

Following the race, Ryan Kavanagh reported that Betty Bassett (IRE), placed fourth, was denied a clear run for some time approaching the final furlong; and Aiden Brookes reported that Ottoman (IRE), placed second, hung left-handed under pressure; and the Veterinary Officer reported that Tuesdays Child (GB), unplaced, had an irregular heartbeat.
