THE RIPON SILVER SPRINT TROPHY HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) Permission was given for Seven Questions (IRE) to go to post early wearing a red hood.
Approximately one and half furlongs out, Seven Questions (IRE), placed sixth, edged left-handed at the same time Castan (GB), placed fourth, edged slightly right-handed, which caused the rider of the weakening VINCE L’AMOUR (IRE), unplaced, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Castan (GB) nor Seven Questions (IRE).
The performance of Dyonisos (FR), which started second favourite and finished seventh of eight runners, beaten 5 ½ lengths was considered.
Ian Williams’ explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the Going, officially described as Good, Good to Firm (in places) and would prefer an easier surface, was noted.
Following the race, Amy Waugh reported that VINCE L’AMOUR (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference approximately one and a half furlongs out.
