THE BOODLES HANDICAP STAKES (CLASS 2) (GBBPLUS RACE) Permission was given for Daiquiri Bay (GB) and Nolton Cross (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider two pieces of interference approximately 2 1/2 furlongs out and approaching the 2-furlong marker involving, Hopewell Rock (IRE), placed third, ridden by Billy Loughnane, Military Academy (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Hollie Doyle and Nolton Cross (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jason Hart.
In the first incident Loughnane was suspended for 4 days for improper riding in that he manoeuvred Hopewell Rock (IRE) right-handed when alongside Military Academy (GB), when it should have been obvious that in doing so interference would occur with that gelding and it being shifted of its intended line, in turn moving Nolton Cross (IRE) marginally of its intended line.
In the second incident Hopewell Rock (IRE) shifted quickly right-handed before being corrected moving Military Academy (GB) and in turn Nolton Cross (IRE) of their intended lines, this was found to be accidental.
