Permission was given for Spirit Charmer (GB) to go to post early.
An enquiry was held into the start of this race and the participation of Royal Jet (GB), drawn 13, ridden by Jack Doughty, and trained by Tony Carroll.
The Rider, the Trainer and the Starters were interviewed and shown recordings of the start.
The Stewards considered that the gelding should be deemed to be a runner as its chances had not been materially affected by the incident, as from a wide draw, their intention was always to drop in.
Approaching the first turn, Invincible Navy (IRE), placed second, stepped slightly left-handed causing Lovely Jubly (GB), unplaced, to be steadied for several strides.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Invincible Navy (IRE).
Approximately 3 furlongs out, the free running Invincible Navy (IRE), placed second, clipped the heels of Spirit Charmer (GB), unplaced.

Following the race, William Cox reported that Spirit Charmer (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
Jason Watson reported that Latona (IRE), placed fifth, hung left-handed.
Tom Queally reported that Okami (IRE), unplaced, missed the break, hung left-handed and ran too free.
