Permission was given for A Day In Bloom (IRE) to be mounted in the chute and to wear a red hood to post and for Lilac Wine (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out involving Lilac Wine (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jack Callan, Mond (GER), unplaced, ridden by Jack Doughty, Celtic Diligence (GB), unplaced, ridden by Paddy Bradley and Lovely Jubly (GB), unplaced, ridden by William Carson.
As a 7lb claiming apprentice, Callan was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry, but declined.
Callan was suspended for 4 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed without either timely or sufficient correction, which resulted in Carson having to take a significant check, and further resulted in both Mond (GER) and Celtic Diligence (GB) receiving contact and becoming unbalanced as a result.
Following the race, Jack Dace reported that Aroof (IRE), unplaced, ran too freely and William Carson reported that Lovely Jubly (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, which resulted in him easing his mount through to the line.
