Permission was given for Glenfinnan (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Chartwell House (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and be mounted on the chute.

Inside the final ½ furlong, Darkness (FR), placed third, hung left-handed despite the rider’s best efforts carrying Bless Him (IRE), unplaced, slightly off its intended line causing the gelding to be steadied off the heels of Bajan Bandit (GB), placed second, who had shifted slightly right-handed at the same time, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Darkness (FR) or Bajan Bandit (GB).

Following the race, Kieran Shoemark reported that Bless Him (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run on the run to the line, Georgia Dobie reported that Accidental Agent (GB), unplaced, was slow into stride, Daniel Tudhope reported that Darkness (FR), placed third, hung left-handed in the closing stages, and Tom Marquand reported that Modesty (IRE), unplaced, hung left-handed.
