The Stewards received a report from Turf Club Starter, Mr. P.F. Graffin, that E. Mullins, rider of Tarla (FR), had failed to comply with his instructions at the start. Evidence was heard from the starter and rider concerned. Having viewed the recording of the incident and considered the evidence, the Stewards found E. Mullins in breach of Rule 208 (ii) (f) by failing to comply with the Starter's instructions and having taken his good record into account they severely cautioned him regarding his future responsibilities in this regard. They further advised him as to the need to communicate any issues to the Starter in future.

An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (150 = 11st 10lb)
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race or hurdle races after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper. Any horse rated above 150 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 150 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 150 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
